Exam retirements

The Adobe Certified Professional 2020 exams will be retired at the end of June 2023.

The Adobe Certified Professional 2019 exams were retired at the end of June 2022 to make way for the new 2022 exams.

Certiport works closely with Apple to ensure the App Development with Swift certifications align with the most recent curriculum. Because the App Development with Swift Level 1 exam was aligned to Xcode 9 and the App Development with Swift course from the previous book collection, it was retired on June 30, 2022.

The 2020 support files for the Autodesk software were discontinued when the 2023 support was released in English. Once the 2023 support is released for other languages an Autodesk exam the candidate will only be able to take the exam using the 2021, 2022, or 2023 versions of the Autodesk Software. Please check the product release page for localization release dates.

Beginning July 1st, 2022, Certiport will no longer sell exam licenses or vouchers for the EC-Council Associate (ECA) program, which includes the Ethical Hacking Associate and Cyber Forensics Associate exams. Vouchers and licenses purchased by June 30th, 2022 will be redeemable until June 30th, 2023. The EC-Council Associate (ECA) program will officially retire on July 1st, 2023 and Certiport will suspend all ECA exam delivery. Moving forward, customers who wish to certify in cybersecurity can pursue the IT Specialist Cybersecurity certification which covers much of the same material found in the Cyber Forensics Associate exam.

The ESB-U.S. exam retired on January 31, 2023. The exam has been updated, the new exam is called ESB-U.S. v.2. 

The following IC3 GS5 exams have been retired:

• IC3 GS5 (Office 2016)  CHT
• IC3 GS5 (Office 2013) CHT

All other IC3 GS5 exams are available with no plans for retirement at this time. For a complete list of available IC3 exams and localizations, please visit the Exam Releases page.

With the end of life of the Adobe Flash Player on December 31, 2020, the following exams retired on June 30^th, 2021:

• IC3 GS4 Database Fundamentals
• IC3 GS4 Fast Track
• IC3 GS4 Spark
• IC3 Spark – Computing Fundamentals

• IC3 Spark – Living Online

Intuit QuickBooks Desktop (QBD) software is no longer free to educators or students as of August 1, 2022. Educators are encouraged to switch from QuickBooks Desktop to QuickBooks Online (QBO) which will remain free to educators and students. Certiport is following Intuit’s business decision and will gradually retire the Intuit QuickBooks Desktop exam.

The retirement schedule is as follows:

• QBD is no longer free to educators as of August 1, 2022
  • Teachers can purchase a QBD license for up to five users which can pose challenges in a classroom setting
• Intuit will support QBD until May 2024. After this date, the support for Desktop will be entirely shut down
• Certiport will offer the QBD certification until May 2024, after which we will completely retire the exam

In January 2018, the MCE exam in English was retired and replaced with a new version that incorporates 21st Century Learning Design as the basis for the Objective Domains. The questions within the exam were completely replaced; however the Exam name and Microsoft Exam number are the same. 

The MB-901 Dynamics 365 Fundamentals exam was retired in June 2021.

 

MOS 2013 Retirement

The Microsoft Office Specialist 2013 program will be retiring with the release of the new MOS 365 Apps exams. All 2013 exams in a given language will retire when the last MOS 365 Apps exam planned for that language is released. MOS 2013 SharePoint Retirement

The MOS 2013 SharePoint exam was retired on June 30th, 2020.

The Microsoft Technology Associate (MTA) certification program has served as a crucial asset providing and validating foundational skills for anyone venturing into the broad world of IT and has been an important part of the Certiport portfolio of exams. Microsoft decided to evolve their certifications to focus on job roles utilizing Microsoft technology. As a result of these changes, Microsoft retired the MTA program.

Important dates to be aware of: 

• On July 1, 2021, we ceased selling Microsoft Technology Associate (MTA) certification exams. 

• The Microsoft Technology Associate (MTA) exams officially retired on June 30, 2022. Effective July 1, 2022, Certiport suspended all MTA exam delivery.
