Q: Why is Certiport / Pearson VUE making this change?
A: The data center transition will enhance the reliability, scalability, and availability of our business systems.
Q: Is the new data center provider ISO certified?
A: Yes – ISO/IEC 27001.
Q: Will the new data center provider perform daily back-ups and disaster recovery?
A: Yes.
Q: Are there any risks with this change? What risk mitigation planning has Certiport completed?
A: We are working to minimize risks with this move and have implemented processes to minimize risks involved with moving data centers.
Q: Is there any impact to Test Candidates?
A: The production transition will require an outage. We continue to review potential impacts but expect Test Candidate impact to be minimal. During the outage window:
- Certiport.com will not be available to log in, schedule tests, or start exams in Compass.
- The authenticated (logged in) area of our website will not be available for Test Candidates to view their accounts.
- We will share more information about potential impacts as applicable.
Q: What is the impact to CATCs?
A: For CATC outbound traffic to Certiport, you will need to allow traffic to the entire domain (*.certiport.com, *.pearson.com, *.pearsonvue.com, *.starttest.com, *.starttest2.com, *.startpractice.com, *.programworkshop.com).
- If you are using an API that Certiport has provided, we don’t expect changes but please verify all is working post cutover.
Q: How do I know that my Test Candidate data is secure in the new environment?
A: As Certiport moves its systems to the new environment, the security posture around our applications is not changing. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Our Cybersecurity team and tools continue to monitor the system.
Q: Does the new environment meet Certiport's level of current security for our current solution?
A: Yes, we are implementing all infrastructure using current security requirements that are as good or better than the current levels.
Data privacy
Q: Does this new infrastructure meet data privacy laws worldwide?
A: Certiport continually monitors global data privacy laws and will make changes when necessary to remain in compliance with all applicable data privacy laws.
