Design for Delight Certification
Certiport, in partnership with Inuit Education, is excited to announce the creation of a Design for Delight certification that is planned to launch in spring of 2021.
What is Design for Delight?
Design for Delight is a set of principles that give students hands-on experience in creative problem-solving and innovation. The principles of Design for Delight are Deep Customer Empathy, Go Broad to Go Narrow, and Rapid Experiments with Customers. This three-pronged concept focuses on how individuals can “Delight” their customers.
- Deep Customer Empathy – Understanding customers, their pain points, and reasons for their actions helps innovate and discover solutions.
- Go Broad to Go Narrow – Brainstorming broad potential solutions and then narrowing those to determine which will most likely delight the customer and solve the problem.
- Rapid Experiments with Customers – Experimenting and testing solutions with real customers to determine if problems will be solved.
The Design for Delight concept gives students the tools they need to identify problems, gain customer empathy, run experiments, test assumptions, pivot if needed, and much more. This type of thinking promotes creativity, critical thinking, complex problem solving, and other skills that are much needed in today’s workforce.
Master Certification in Entrepreneurship
Candidates who earn the Design for Delight certification and Entrepreneurship and Small Business certification will receive the Master Certification in Entrepreneurship. Individuals who receive this certificate will have exhibited an understanding of concepts related to entrepreneurship, small business, and business design. The Master Certification in Entrepreneurship will become available in spring of 2021.
