What is Console 8?

Certiport provides computerized exam delivery services along with globally recognized certifications including Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS). With Console 8, Certiport has utilized multiple technologies to deliver exams including "Live-in-the-Application", simulations, as well as standard item response, resulting in an uninterrupted testing experience.

What certification exams do I get with Console 8?

Many of the certifications programs that Certiport offers can be administered through the Console 8 delivery system. Whether your institution is delivering one or multiple programs, Console 8 is your one-stop solution for them all:

What are the key features of Console 8?

Update Services

Update Services is a new feature within Console 8. This allows for more flexibility and control when updating, such as the ability to choose specific updates to install, and to skip any optional programs your institution is not currently administering. New features such as the LAN Solution make the distribution of large update files far easier in areas with limited bandwidth.

LAN Mode

This facet of the Console 8 delivery system was created to help alleviate the burden of installing large exam content files at Certiport Authorized Testing Centers (CATCs) with limited bandwidth. The feature accomplishes this by designating a single computer at your institution as the “Console Server”, to which all system and applicable exam content updates are downloaded. The other testing computers will be designated as “Console Clients”, and instead of individually connecting to the internet to download updates, they will instead connect to the Console Server automatically whenever it sees that new updates are present.

Built-In Admin Proxy

Due to exam security the software requires Windows Administrative privileges to run, but now has the Admin Proxy feature conveniently built in to the software in a single install package. Employing the Admin Proxy feature will allow the software to be run with a limited user account by storing the encrypted Windows credentials in to the software.
