Announcing the New Exams from Home Chat Feature

We are excited to announce a proctor-candidate chat feature in the Exams from Home (EFH) delivery solution. This feature allows proctors to privately chat with each of the test candidates throughout their entire session on all our supported platforms.

This update doesn’t require any action from either the proctor or candidate. However, we recommend students use a screen with 1680x900 resolution for the best user experience. Next time you log-in as a proctor to use the Exams from Home delivery solution, your first screen will ask for your chat display name. The system will automatically pull from the first name in your Certiport profile, but you can modify it if needed.

From there, you’ll simply select your testing center, and click “Start Machines”. When you begin your session, you will see a Chat Notifications addition in the top right corner. When a candidate joins a session or sends a message, you’ll hear a notification sound. When you expand the chat notifications, you will be able to see new or unread chats, along with chats that have already been read. You can dismiss notices that you’ve already resolved with the gray X next to the notification.

The chat feature operates independently of the virtual machine, so you can continue the conversation even if you run into issues with the exam itself.
