What Learning Products Are Available for MTA Certification?

If you’re new to teaching Microsoft Technology Associate certification, it can be overwhelming to figure out the best way to teach and help your students pass the certification exams. MTA certification can be especially challenging, since there are so many separate certifications that can be earned.

We’re here to simplify your lesson preparation. Below is the list of learning products available to help you effectively teach MTA certification.

LearnKey

LearnKey is a video-based training course with the most up to date MTA content. They utilize the GMetrix platform, meaning you and your students can use the same sign-on for both the learning and the practice tests. To make things easy for you, LearnKey has a self-paced learning mode and an instructor-led mode. There are workbooks, labs, and self-assessments. Students can test their own understanding, enabling them to prepare before taking the actual certification. You can see an in-depth preview of LearnKey's MTA content here

LearnKey’s materials span the following MTA certification exams:

CCI Learning has developed textbooks for the following MTA exams:

  • HTML5 App Development
  • Software Development

  • Networking Fundamentals

Code Avengers

Code Avengers is an MTA specific learning program. Developed for K12 specifically, the Code Avengers platform is an easy-to-use LMS, and incredibly accessible for students as well. All Code Avengers courses are browser based, so students won’t need to download anything to be able to access and move through their courses.

Each course on the platform is made up of lessons. The number of lessons vary between courses, but the format of the lessons follows the same structure. Each lesson focuses on a topic or concept which is broken down into five simple tasks. Each task contains a “learn” section that explains the topic in text format with video optional in many courses, the next section, “create” will require students to write code in a specific programming language. This approach is based on the “learn by doing” method.

If you’re a coding teacher in K12, this is a great option for you. With teacher resources and a teacher dashboard built into each course, you can’t go wrong. In addition to the courses mapped to the MTA exams, Code Avengers also offers courses in computer science, web development, block-based programming, and other topics. You can dive deeper into the Code Avengers platform here.

Code Avengers has materials to support the following MTA exams:

  • Javascript
  • Python
  • HTML and CSS

Pearson

Our parent company, Pearson, also offers traditional textbooks and e-texts. They also offer e-learning through our practice test partner, GMetrix. Like Code Avengers, their published material focuses primarily on coding. Pearson’s GMetrix content is video-based training, a format today’s students are most comfortable with, plus additional exercises and assessments. Additionally, Pearson offers full educator resources to make your job easier.

Here are the MTA focused materials available through Pearson:

  • Javascript
  • Python
  • HTML and CSS
