What Practice Test Options Are Available for IC3 Certification?

Learn. Practice. Certify. You handle the learning. We handle the certifying. But a piece of the puzzle remains. Practice is crucial to getting students certified. Luckily Certiport has partnered with GMetrix to help your students assess their understanding of the digital literacy skills you cover in class.

GMetrix simulates a live application testing environment. Their IC3 practice exams cover both GS4 and GS5 versions of the exam. GMetrix also coordinates with several editions of Windows and Office, including Windows 7/Microsoft Office 2010, Windows 7/Microsoft Office 2013, and Windows 10/Microsoft Office 2016.

All the IC3 exams are covered: Computing Fundamentals, Living Online, and Key Applications. Spark is also supported in the Windows 7/Microsoft Office 2010 and Windows 10/Microsoft Office 2016 environment.

  GS4 (Windows 7 and Office 2010) GS5 (Windows 7 and Office 2013) GS5 (Windows 10 and Office 2016)
Computing Fundamentals X X X
Living Online X X X
Key Applications X X X
Spark X   X

However, the question remains, what makes GMetrix practice tests better than creating your own practice exams or eliminating practice tests altogether? Overall, adding GMetrix to your portfolio will make your life, and your students’ lives, easier. Your life is easier because you can utilize the reporting and insight features to figure out where students are struggling. Students’ lives are easier by employing the two practice modes: Training mode and testing mode. Training mode allows students to work at their own pace and receive feedback and step-by-step instructions along the way. Testing mode simulates the timed testing environment, so students are not thrown when the time comes for the actual certification. Definitely a win-win.
