Certiport Announces Availability of Unity Certified User Exam Courseware

New courseware is hosted on the GMetrix platform to prepare learners to successfully earn Unity Certified User certification

SALT LAKE CITY – September 18, 2019

Certiport, the leading provider of performance-based IT certification exams that accelerate academic and career opportunities for learners, today announced the availability of Unity Certified User (UCU) Courseware, sold exclusively by Certiport and hosted on the GMetrix platform. The UCU courseware was designed by Unity Technologies to prepare learners for the UCU certification exam, which expects at least 150 hours of Unity software use and training.

Certiport launched the Unity Certified User: Programmer certification earlier this year. Now offering the curriculum and practice tests on GMetrix allows educators to access the necessary materials for success in one location. The course provides a structured, hands-on self-study program for learning C# programming, Unity and game development. Learners build multiple working projects from the ground up.

“What makes Unity skills unique is they are being listed specifically in job titles and descriptions,” said Ray Murray, Vice President and General Manager – IT, Pearson VUE. “Earning UCU certification prepares students for the current job market, while also teaching basic coding language in C# which can be used as a stepping stone to other coding languages. We look forward to expanding the launch of this program with great courseware to help students be successful.”

The UCU Courseware includes 12 video-based modules, 3 complete projects with associated assets and embedded challenges to reinforce learning.

“We have a unique opportunity to improve how we equip future creators of the world to thrive, specifically, how we prepare the learners of today for the jobs of tomorrow,” said Jessica Lindl, VP and Global Head of Education at Unity Technologies. “With this courseware now available, educators can provide students with the tools necessary to become a Unity Certified User, a certification that employers of today and tomorrow will increasingly look for when making hiring decisions.”

The UCU Courseware is available via annual site license, single-use voucher or bundled with practice tests and certification exams.  For more information visit www.Certiport.com/Unity. In addition to the official courseware, Unity offers free learning resources like Unity Teach, Create with Code, and Unity Learn, released earlier this year, to provide educators and students with the tools they need to meet the needs of the future workplace.
