SALT LAKE CITY– March 15, 2018
Certiport (www.certiport.com), a Pearson VUE business, and the leading test delivery solution provider for the global workforce and academic markets, today announces the non-profit client for the 2018 Adobe Certified Associate World Championship (ACAWC) will be TakingITGlobal, one of the world's leading networks of young people learning about, engaging with, and working towards tackling global challenges.
With over 500,000 members, the TakingITGlobal community brings together like-minded youth to take part in programs that span across the world. From micro-mentorship helping young entrepreneurs get their ideas off the ground, to nation-wide art competitions, to online petitions, they open doors for young people to get involve.
“We are excited about acting as the client for the ACA World Championship this year – we have already heard great things about the quality of work that comes out of this competition,” said Jay Baker, project coordinator, TakingITGlobal. “We are avid supporters of bringing technology and world issues to the classroom, and that ties in closely with what Certiport does with certification. We look forward to seeing the creativity and design skills these young people use to communicate our mission in their final projects.”
Certiport and Adobe sponsor the ACA World Championship and expect more than 200,000 entries worldwide, with more than 20 countries represented at the final round of the ACA World Championship in Orlando, FL from July 29 to August 1, 2018. The ACA World Championship is designed to showcase digital communications skills and promote industry certification. In the final round of competition, students will receive instructions, project requirements and assets to complete a real-world design challenge for TakingITGlobal.
“Our goal with the ACA World Championship is to give student competitors a real-world design challenge that demonstrates mastery of Adobe tools while communicating the client’s message,” said Aaron Osmond, general manager, Certiport, a Pearson VUE business. “TakingITGlobal is the perfect fit, and I can’t wait to see what the students do with their message for helping youth tackle global challenges. Their mission is timely and we expect to be inspired by all of the final submissions at the ACA World Championship.”
For their final design challenge, ACA World Championship student competitors will be asked to envision that they have been hired by TakingITGlobal to create a project using Adobe Creative Cloud applications. They will be given instructions and visual assets such as TakingITGlobal’s logo and imagery and will be able to use Creative Cloud Photoshop®, Illustrator® and/or InDesign® to create the final project.
“At Adobe, we see how creativity and design can be a powerful catalyst for positive change,” said Tacy Trowbridge, Education Programs Lead, Adobe. “The ACA World Championship coupled with TakingITGlobal will give students an opportunity to design inspiring projects for a real-world client and to make a difference. We look forward to the innovative designs and solutions this year’s students will create.”
A first ($7,000), second ($3,500) and third ($1,500) place ACA World Champion will be chosen based on a panel of judges reviewing the final design projects. Visit www.ACAChampionship.com for more information.
