The American Council on Education (ACE) has approved the Certiport Entrepreneurship and Small Business (ESB) and Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) 2016 certification exams for college credit equivalency.
The ACE Credit Recommendation Service (CREDIT®) was established in 1974 to connect workplace learning with colleges and universities by helping students gain access to academic credit for formal training taken outside traditional degree programs. ACE CREDIT visited the Certiport offices to assess and ultimately recommended college credit for the following exams:
- Certiport Entrepreneurship and Small Business certification exam: 3 credit hours for lower division (100-200 level) in Business Management.
- Microsoft Office Specialist Word 2016 certification exam: 1 credit hour for lower division (100-200 level) in Information Technology.
- Microsoft Office Specialist Excel 2016 certification exam: 1 credit hour for lower division (100-200 level) in Information Technology.
- Microsoft Office Specialist PowerPoint 2016 certification exam: 1 credit hour for lower division (100-200 level) in Information Technology.

Going forward students will be able to earn college credit by taking and passing the ESB and MOS 2016 certifications. More than 2,000 US-based colleges and universities are part of the ACE CREDIT network and will recognize the recommendations.
