SALT LAKE CITY– May 6, 2015

Adobe Certified Associate World Championship

Certiport (www.certiport.com), a Pearson VUE business, the leading test delivery solution provider for the global workforce and academic markets, today announced the upcoming 2015 Adobe Certified Associate (ACA) World Championship in Dallas, Texas from August 9 – 12, 2015. Certiport expects more than 60,000 total entrants worldwide, with finalists from more than 20 countries making the trip to Dallas for the final round of the design challenge.

ACA World Championship candidates must be students age 13 to 22 who are enrolled in an approved, degree–seeking academic institution. Regional competition rules vary, but to participate, a student must pass one of the following exams by June 15, 2015:

  • Adobe Certified Associate Visual Communication using Adobe Photoshop
  • Adobe Certified Associate in Print & Digital Media Publication using Adobe InDesign
  • Adobe Certified Associate in Graphic Design & Illustration using Adobe Illustrator

"The ACA World Championship is a global competition that recognizes the next generation of design professionals," said Tacy Trowbridge, education programs lead, Adobe. "In the past few years we have been increasingly impressed with the quality of work submitted. The student competitors are incredibly talented and have a chance to create final projects that non-profits can use in the real world."

At the ACA World Championship, regional finalists will receive instructions, project requirements and assets to complete a real-world design challenge for Room to Read, a non-profit organization for improving literacy and gender equality in education in the developing world. Students will be permitted to use Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, and Adobe InDesign from the Adobe Creative Cloud to complete the design challenge.

"We are excited to work with Adobe and Certiport for the ACA World Championship," said Steve Cox, associate director of marketing for Room to Read. "Our focus on education makes this partnership a good fit – the student competitors are all working hard to gain valuable workforce digital design skills. We look forward to seeing their designs to promote Room to Read and our mission to help children pursue a quality education."

A first ($5,000), second ($2,500) and third ($1,000) place World Champion will be identified based on an evaluation of the final design projects. Visit www.ACAchampionship.com for a complete list of participating countries, worldwide rules and dates.
