Certiport, a Pearson VUE business, today announced the 2016 Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) India Championship, the popular technology skills competition on Microsoft Office. The MOS India Championship is the only one endorsed by Microsoft, providing a platform for students to showcase their expert skills using Microsoft Office tools and gain the upper hand in today's competitive academic and professional marketplace.
"The MOS certification helps students gain essential productivity skills and prepares them for an increasingly competitive workplace," said Divyalok Sharma, Director, Client Development, Pearson VUE and Head of Certiport's India business. "The competitors in the MOS India Championship earn national recognition, and some go on to win international recognition as well. The Championship will be an opportunity for students across India to participate and get certified."
Students age 13 to 22 can qualify to participate in the MOS India Championship by earning a passing score on one of the following MOS certification exams between 1 October 2015 and 1 April 2016: MOS Word 2010, MOS Excel 2010, MOS PowerPoint 2010, MOS Word 2013, MOS Excel 2013, MOS PowerPoint 2013.
Upon completion of the qualifying round, top students will be invited to attend the 2016 MOS India Championship event in New Delhi from 20-21 May 2016. During the India Championship, all competitors will take a unique competition exam in their track.
The top three students in each track will be honored with prizes and certificates and six First Place Champions will each win an invitation and all-expenses-paid trip to compete in Certiport's 2016 Microsoft Office Specialist World Championship from 7-10 August 2016 in Orlando, Florida, USA.
